Birds and Cetaceans Sightings at the Straits of Gibraltar.

This one-day field trip offers an incredible opportunity to watch both the spectacular migration of rare avian species and cetaceans, in the wonderful scenary of the Straits of Gibraltar and Algeciras Bay. English-speaking guides will provide information and assistance to participants, in cooperation with local experts.

  • A bus will conduct us to the bird observatories in the morning, where we will have the chance to watch soaring bird species in their spring arrival to the European continent.

 

 
         
  • We will have lunch break on the Isla de Tarifa, the southernmost land in Europa and, undoubtely, the best observatory of the Straits of migratory sea birds. Due to its strategic location, this island has seen many events of historical importance and has been responsible of many shipwrecks.
         
  • After lunch, we will be navigating the waters between Africa and Europe, observing its unique living marine ecosystem. Cetaceans sighting is 95% guaranteed.
